This was one amazing ride.  The depth of emotion I felt from this story really surprised me and I found myself going from elation to despair and back again.  Holly Stratimore has written a wonderful book that ends up pulling the reader in and making them feel part of something very special.  Randi is a cop with a bad attitude and some dodgy practises.  When she pulls over Jules she finds someone who is not willing to take her crap and she can’t get her out of her head.  Jules is equally intrigued and although she is trying to turn her life around after a bereavement, she feels drawn to the hot and dangerous cop.  Randi doesn’t do serious relationships or relationships at all. She gets by fine with one night stands and friends with benefits.  She also has a past that haunts her and until she deals with that there is no hope for a happy ending.  I loved how the two women became closer.  It was tentative and not without enormous difficulties.  Neither of them were ready for the changes in their lives but together it seemed to work for them.  Randi appeared tough and unapproachable at first but I came to love her as she had so much hurt in her heart and Jule was the only one who could ever help her overcome it.  Jule was so caring and sweet and through helping Randi moved to a place in her own life where she could be happy.  This is a remarkable story and I defy anyone to read it without a lump in their throat.  A well deserved 5 stars.

I was given this ARC free by Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books in return for an honest review.
