Review of ‘The Amnesia Project’ by Barbara Winkes

amnesia

This is a story that will stay with me. Dani, Alice and Joy are friends planning a trip to New York before careers take them in different directions. Alice’s sister Paige is foisted upon them and Dani seems more affected than the others by this. When Paige disappears they are all distraught but Dani can’t stop looking and dedicates her life to finding her.

‘The Amnesia Project’ is a fantastic dystopian romance with a story that has so many layers. I never knew who to trust or where it was going to go. I learned not to make assumptions when reading this novel. Barbara Winkes surprised me again and again. The reason for Paige’s disappearance was shocking but worryingly not at all unbelievable. Once you’ve read it you will know why.

Dani was tenacious and her loyalty to Paige never wavered. She found herself in peril, threatened and warned off but never gave up. Paige had an underlying strength and maturity that shone through. I liked her approach from the start and was with Dani all the way as she tried to find answers to where Paige had gone and why. I was very impressed with this book and give it 5 Stars.

Review of ‘Girl Love Happens Season Two’ by TB Markinson

Wow! TB Markinson really knows how to build up the tension. In ‘Girl Love Happens’ season 2 Tegan and Gemma are in their second year of college and as usual things do not go entirely smoothly. Tegan gets herself into a pickle and her attempts to make it right are hilarious, ridiculous and had me biting my fingernails with worry. That girl knows how to make things difficult for herself.

I enjoyed this book ever more than the first as the character development is spot on and I felt immersed in the world of G&T. The sex is even hotter and rather more adventurous and who could complain about that? I just hope there will be a season three as I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Review of ‘A Work in Progress’ by LT Smith

A Work in Progress

Brynn has been in love with her best friend since they were teens.  As a result no relationship will ever be good enough for her. Will she let a new woman in her life or continue to pine for Gillian forever?  This is the second in the Window Shopping series and is a funny story with a fair bit of emotional turmoil for our main character.  I enjoyed it and it was well written with a few laugh out loud moments.  Romance and aah moments made it for me.

Review of ‘Friends in High Places’ by Andi Marquette

I don’t read a lot of sci-fi but when I do I want it to fire my imagination and pull me right in. Andi Marquette has certainly done that with ‘Friends in High Places’. The story of Torri, a trader skirting the edges of the law and her reconnection with military officer Kai is exciting and full of intrigue. I like the universe she has set up and the variety of characters. People’s motives kept me guessing and the tension was ramped up as the story unfolded.  It was sexy and intense at times and made me want to find out more about the two main characters. A really good start to the series.
