I love when an author shows imagination and love for invention in their writing. Emma Sterner-Radley does just that in ‘Whispering Wildwood’. This is where Emma Sterner-Radley excels. This is her genre.
Korinne is the strong, intelligent member of her family and has gone along with a life she hates for the sake of her brother. Matt is sweet and kind, but not the brightest. Korinne would do anything to protect him. When they are forced into an adventure in the Whispering Wildwood, both find that life is never going to be the same again. With the help of the flamboyant and knowledgeable Vicktoria, they encounter magic and mystery and creatures they thought part of fairy tales. Korinne undergoes a voyage of self discovery in an environment full of surprises and wonder.
The story is wonderful and I was completely enthralled. The language is beautifully descriptive and the world-building exquisite. I couldn’t get enough of the puzzles and riddles of the Wildwood and the creatures they encountered. It was a joy to read. I loved it.
I was given this ARC for review.
